Patricia (Pat) Ann Ivey

December 15, 1936 - September 25, 2021

IVEY – Patricia (Pat) Ann Ivey went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 25, 2021. Pat was born in Lawrenceville, GA to Ike and Lucille Cole on December 15, 1936. Pat was 84 years old and lived in Gwinnett County her entire life. She attended Lawrenceville School. Pat was a dedicated member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. In her earlier years Pat worked at Button Gwinnett Hospital in the birthing unit caring for “newborn babies” to which she could tell you to this day the name of many she cared for. Pat retired from General Motors of Doraville. Pat was a very loving and caring Mom and Nanny who always put her family first. She would do without to provide for others. If you had a need she would make sure it was taken care of. She loved to cook (at which she was very good at). The more people that came to eat the happier she was. Most of all, Pat was well known around Lawrenceville for her “Fried Apple Pies”. If you were fortunate to receive them you knew you were “loved”. Pat was a very modest lady who believed “what you see is what you get” and if you didn’t like it that was your problem not hers. What a memory Pat had – she could tell you who was who – where they lived – when they lived there and who was their family – not to mention she could tell you what the weather was on certain days. Pat was a “Pillar” of the community. If you ever met her you would never forget her. She will be truly missed by many. The good Lord better open them gates wide - there’s a new sheriff in Heaven – “Pat Ivey” has come home. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Lucille Cole; brother Harold Cole; and sister Jackie Washington. She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Melinda (Randy) Meaders; sons, Mike (Connie) Ivey, Marty Ivey, and Mark Ivey; granddaughter, Jenna Maxey was blessed to be raised by Pat; sisters, Martha (Franklin) Williams, Faye Sudderth, Becky (Rodney) Garmon; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren: Chris Turner, Tami Allgood, Melissa McArdle, Jamie Meaders, Cody Ivey, Shelby Ivey, Jessica Athey, Jordyn Ivey, Chelsey Doyle; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 649 Braselton Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30043. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 and 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road SW, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. 770-962-3100.
