For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” John Douglas Lindsey, age 58, of Grayson, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from a presumed heart attack. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Corinth Baptist Church, 3156 Langley Road, Loganville, GA 30052, with Rev. Tommy Foskey officiating. He will lie in state from 10:00–11:00 AM at the church prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville and at Corinth Baptist Church from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, Allison Lindsey of Grayson; son, John David Lindsey of Grayson; daughter, Olivia Kate Lindsey of Grayson; father, John Emil Lindsey (Jack) of NY; mother, Karen Thompson of Snellville; brother, Travis (Susan) Lindsey of Lilburn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David (Patricia) Cloud of Grayson; sister-in-law, Heather Cloud of Rome; niece, Lexi Cloud; nephews, Austin Cloud, Michael Lindsey, Malachi Lindsey, Aiden Cloud; niece, Kara Lindsey; and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his Step Father, Jim Thompson, Step Mother, Jacqueline Q. Lindsey, and his Brother-in-Law, David C. Cloud. Born in North Miami, Florida, John graduated from Cooper City High School and later earned his B.A. degree in Marketing from Florida State University. After settling in the Grayson Area, he was introduced to Allison by his step-sister, Anna Thompson, and they built a beautiful life together. John enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry before transitioning into his most recent role as a Compliance Coordinator with Fiber Technology Solutions where he was a cherished employee. John had many talents and passions. He enjoyed baseball, football, surfing, and theater during his high school years, and developed a love for tennis as an adult. His passion for theater and acting led him to seek out opportunities to be in front of the camera. He worked as an extra and a stand-in in a number of works including Police Academy 5, Caddyshack 2, Halt and Catch Fire, The Originals, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and several others. John followed a number of sports teams including the Florida State Seminoles, the Atlanta Braves, and most recently, the Georgia Bulldogs. He also took great pride in supporting a close family friend throughout his hockey career with both the Vegas Golden Knights and the Buffalo Sabres. While he was a fan of teams at the highest levels, he was the ultimate fan when it came to his children. Throughout their sports careers, he coached everything from basketball to baseball to softball- even soccer. He always did this with patience, encouragement, and a genuine love for each of his players, especially his son and daughter. A lifelong entrepreneur, John was always thinking of ways to serve others and make people’s lives a little easier. His shaved ice business became a true passion project, one that allowed him to build community and give back through frequent fundraisers supporting local causes. He especially loved serving the Brookwood Baseball and Softball Association at Bethesda Park, where he was a familiar and friendly presence for the past 12 years. John had a love for animals which highlighted his soft and loving heart. He loved their family dog, Bella, and she is lost without him. John was a devoted husband, a loving father, a loyal son, a beloved brother, and a fun uncle. He was humble, with a quiet spirit and a hilarious sense of humor. He will be remembered for his steadfast faith in Jesus Christ, his deep love for his family, and his kindness toward everyone he met. We take comfort in knowing that he is fully healed and at peace in the presence of his Savior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Corinth Baptist Church.
