Eleanor Ann Schmid Park

Our loving mother Eleanor Ann (Schmid) Park peacefully passed from her earthly life into the loving arms of her Savior and friend Jesus Christ on the evening of September 29, 2022. Ann was a loving devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her beautiful smile, glowing countenance, and unmatched love that she radiated will be missed by all who knew her. Ann was born October 12, 1933 to Nettie Mae Schmid and John Francis Schmid in Atlanta, Georgia. Being the youngest of 7 children she was immediately loved by many. She prided herself on being her brother Harry’s birthday present instead of the baseball he wanted. In later years she gifted him that baseball he had wished for and they relished sharing their special day together. Ann was married to Neil Alonzo Park on November 19,1954 in Atlanta, Ga. Their marriage was then sealed for eternity in the Manti Utah Temple on November 29,1954. Ann was the loving mother of 6 children, grandmother of 12 (14 if you count Bella and Lily, her grand pups), great grandmother of 28, and great-great grandmother of 1. Ann was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served the Lord in many capacities throughout her life, including local missionary of the Southern States Mission, Primary Secretary, Primary President, Relief Society President, Temple Ordinance Worker in the Atlanta Georgia Temple, Temple Missionary in the Stockholm Sweden Temple, and dedicated Visiting Teacher. She lived her life in the Christlike service of her fellowmen. She was a beloved member of the staff of Dacula Elementary school, serving as Head Custodian for many years. In her career, she made many lifelong friends as she labored to serve the teachers and children. Ann retired from her career in December of 1997. Ann became well known around the globe for her talents in crocheting, baking, and homemade candy making. She enjoyed blessing others with her gifts made with love. In her later years, it was heart wrenching for her to become unable to continue to serve others in this way. However, she was able to continue sharing her talents by teaching friends and family her patterns and recipes. Ann enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Most of all, she enjoyed being near her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved above all reading the scriptures. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie and John, her siblings John (Dot) Schmid, Charles (Louise) Schmid, Marie (Elwin) Davis, Henry (Marie) Schmid, Harry (Elizabeth) Schmid, and Howard Schmid, her spouse Neil Park, and her sons Allen Park and Stan Park. She is survived by her children Fern Park of Dacula, Ga., Lezli (Kent) Dickinson of Tooele, Ut, James Park of Dacula, Ga., Clara (Mike) Dudack of Dacula, Ga., grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ann’s family will be receiving friends and loved ones Wednesday October 5th, 2022 from 4:00pm-8:00 pm at Tim Stewart Funeral Home located @ 300 Simonton Road S.W. Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 6, 2022 at 1:00pm, with family receiving friends and loved ones starting at 12:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints @ 3323 New Hope Rd, Dacula, GA 30019. Interment will take place at Gwinnett Memorial Park located at 925 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
