TIBBIE GIBBS TOLBERT May 11, 1925 – May 16, 2022 Tibbie, aka Mom, Mama Tib, Sister, or Tib went to be with the Lord on May 16th. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home she had lived in for the last 44 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald A. Tolbert, her son Donald Wayne (Cooter) Tolbert, and son and daughter-in-law Stephen E. and Jan Tolbert. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Gail Tolbert and daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Brian Keener and her daughter- in-law, Nancy Tolbert, her grandchildren, Channing T. Stewart, Christy T. Husband, Chad Tolbert, Bobby Tolbert, Michael Tolbert, Spencer Tolbert, Ashley Tolbert, Jonathan Tolbert and 14 great grand children. Born in Pitts, Ga., Tibbie came to Atlanta in her teenage years and in 1945 she married the” love of her life” Don Tolbert aka “Papa D”. Tibbie was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, friend, and neighbor. Early on she worked for the Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator and later in life worked for the J.C. Penney Company until her retirement in the 90’s. Tibbie had the gift of generosity, she was always trying to give you something before you left her house. Tibbie will be greatly missed by all! Her family is at peace knowing that Heaven has a new Angel to watch over them! A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 12, 2022, in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home.
