Dennis Edwin Butler

Dennis Edwin Butler, age 78 of Lilburn, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Pastor Dean Head and Rev. Alfred Rickett will officiate. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Dennis was born on November 11, 1943, in Duluth, Georgia to the late Edwin and Mattie Alice Powell Butler. Dennis was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He had worked for Meeks Electrical as an Electrician and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Dennis was also preceded in death by his brother, James Larry Butler. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Lee Sanders Butler; daughter & son-in-law, Cassandra (Sandy) & Pastor Dean Head of Lawrenceville; son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Stefanie Butler of Winder; grandchildren, Mary Head, Tabitha Head, Riley & Jordan Butler, Zachary Butler, Ashley Butler; great grandchildren, Bear Butler & June Butler; sister & brother-in-law, Faye & Charlie Boyd of Johns Creek; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dennis with his wife Linda showed how large their heart was by taking in and raising Valerie Gonzalez at the age of 13 just like a daughter. They also raised Rebecca Black and Nathan Black just like their grandchildren. Dennis and Linda have raised and are still raising as their great grandchildren, Gage Black, Kayla Black, Kristie Black, Kylie Black, Alexis Black & Infinity Black. The family will receive friends from 10 AM – 12 PM, 2 PM – 4PM, and 6 PM – 8 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road SW, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. 770-962-3100.
