ANDERSON - Charles E. Anderson, age 89 of Monroe, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away February 19, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro with Richard Jenkins officiating. Mr. Anderson was a WWII Army Veteran. He had retired from Atlanta Steel after 37 years of service and was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Anderson in 2004 and his son, Eddie Anderson in 2005. He is survived by his children: Mickey and Diane Anderson of Jonesboro; Beverly Farese of Monroe; Sherry and Bill Creel, also of Monroe; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends form 6-8 PM Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 823 E. Spring St., Monroe, GA 30655. (770) 267-2594.
