BRADLEY - Richard Lee Bradley, age 78 of Monroe, GA, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009 while bear hunting in a remote area of Alaska. He was born March 17, 1931 in Madison, WV to the late Bruce and Chessie Bradley. Brothers, Kenneth and Glenn Bradley preceded him in death. A beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores June Billups Bradley. He is also survived by children: Kathryn Bradley Brown and husband Ron of St. Albans, WV, Richard L. Bradley II and wife Sandy of Diboll, TX, Jeffrey W. Bradley of Carlton, GA and Julie Bradley Bridges and husband Ronnie of Athens, GA; grandchildren: Bradley Willis, Ambryan White, Tyler and Meredith Willis, Scott, Stephen, Sandra Kaye, Jennifer and Cassidy Bradley and Brandon McCollum; and six great-grandchildren. He attended Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV, West Virginia State College in Institute, WV and worked for Union Carbide for 29 years, the last 8 years as production manager. After retiring from Union Carbide in Tucker, GA, Mr. Bradley worked as a consultant for Union Carbide on a special project in Shu Zhou and Beijing, China. In his retirement years, he raised cattle on his rural farm and greatly enjoyed family, friends, hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Monroe. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 2:30 PM at Center Hill Baptist Church, Gratis with remains placed in state at 2:00 PM. Rev. Marion Prather will officiate. Interment: church cemetery.
