Dearest Hendrix family, I love you all .... my love and prayers are with you .... for peace and comfort that only GOD can give. I have nothing but the fondest memories of Pastor Doug, he made my family feel so loved and was ALWAYS there when we needed him. While it is a great loss, I could tell when I saw him just a few months ago that he has suffered a great deal. No more pain, no more sorrow, but in the presence of the Almighty! Julie & Brian Cooper

Reverend Doug Hendrix is truly one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It saddens me to have to let go, but I know in my heart that he was truly a man of God and a man who loved God and portrayed that to everyone he came into contact with. Brother Doug and his family are as close to me as my own family, and my love and prayers are with them all.

Pastor Doug and Sis Rose have been very influential in my life. I have known their family since I was in elementary school! What I remember most about Pastor is that he defined the word "Pastor!" Pastor Doug was the shepherd of his flock and showed his congregation love and compassion. Yet, like a parent, when you needed guidance, he would not hesitate to tell you the truth even if you didn't like to hear it! I grew up in LCOG! My first youth trip was with LCOG to Cades Cove. My last youth trip was as a youth worker to Gatlinburg, TN! Pastor Doug will be remembered and missed here, but he has received the ultimate healing! AMEN! Sister Rose, Cain, Abbie, Eric, Haven and Trey, please know that I am thinking of you and praying for you even though you rarely see me! You are like my extended family and I think of you all often! Seeing you all today made me terribly homesick!! I know your dad was proud of all of you and his grandkids!! Just like the video showed, next to his love for the Lord, his family is what lit up his smile and put a twinkle in his eye!! I deeply regret I cannot attend the funeral tomorrow, but I had already enrolled to take the LSAT. However, I know it will be a celebration of his life and a testimony to God's amazing grace. Love & Prayers, Vernee along with Justin and Zach Robert and Grayson
